The great thing about art is that even when you mess up or have no purpose, it still can be considered art. The “drawing board” offers an artist many options to get their ideas just right. Sometimes, the rejected ideas aren’t BAD… they’re just ahead of their time.

My basic rules for realistic face structure. I was taught these things by my past art teacher, from Italy. Breaking down the face into shapes really helps with the overall structure. It can even be used on cartoon/anime drawings, once you get the system down. :)

A gesture drawing turned sketch that I did while waiting for my next class. I don’t know who the guy is; he just happened to be down the hall, I saw him, and I started to sketch him. It got difficult at some points because people kept walking down the hall and blocking my view. Then he moved. So, I lost the pose. Whoever he is, he doesn’t know that I drew him. Let’s call him random test subject one, or RTSO. :)
